Research Associate

Samiha Akhter is a passionate researcher committed to driving positive change with experience designing adaptive interventions for developing world market systems. Keenly is interested in navigating the nexus of human rights, the digital economy, women’s empowerment, and international development. She is currently serving as a “Research Associate” at DataSense. Samiha graduated from BRAC University with a bachelor’s degree in economics and a double major in finance. In her career, she focused on research, analysis, project management, team management, and business development.
In her current role, Samiha manages a diverse portfolio of projects for multiple UN and national agencies, encompassing themes such as the platform economy, women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship, Least Developed Country (LDC) graduation, and market research.
She acts as the lead coordinator for different research projects at DataSense; her responsibilities include designing implementation strategies, overseeing field teams, conducting key informant interviews (KII), and organizing focus group discussions (FGD), workshops, and seminars. Her regular communication with stakeholders, target groups, and both national and international donors demonstrates her interpersonal skills.
Prior to his current position, Samiha made significant contributions to the company’s project management team. Responsibilities included collaborating closely with the network expansion manager to enhance rural market services. Her career trajectory reflects her dedication to driving impactful change through her multifaceted expertise in research, analysis, and project management.
