Vulnerability Mapping for Extending Support to BoP People Affected by COVID-19 Outbreak – Bangladesh
DataSense has developed an Economic and Health Vulnerability Index for estimating the magnitude of the impact of COVID-19 and its implications for the BoP population. Based on the findings, a national webinar was organized on June 01, 2020.
Based on a combination of historical household data, emergent geographical public health information, and primary data collection, DataSense worked on geolocating the regions and demographics that will be worst affected by the coronavirus crisis, both financially and medically. To strive for a more holistic outcome, the project takes stock of the socioeconomic impact of the crisis that will long outlive the public health emergency. The geo-information will help organizations distributing relief and public sector agencies to better coordinate their efforts.
